Photo: My first decent Northern Lights shot

More of the same, originally uploaded by Extended sojourn.

It's taken a while, but I've finally got a few pics of the Aurora Borealis that I'm not afraid to show people. This is one of them, taken yesterday while driving back to Yellowknife from Fort Smith. This picture doesn't do justice to how full the sky was, but I'm still learning how to catch these things through the lens. More pictures and posts to come from Fort Smith, the Northwest Territories' southernmost community, as well as its capital until 1959. Much thanks to friend and fellow photog Neoviking for making the trip and the picture possible.

Brent - this picture is awesome! I'm in awe looking at it - I can't imagine what it would be like in real life. Thanks for giving me a glimpse of the lights!
