It's time we get out of the boring, road-having Northwest Territories and go east to Nunavut.

The photo above is about as far North as you can go in Canada's newest territory.. Look at the map above it, find Alert, then look about a half centimetre to the left and just a smidge lower: that's where this was taken. The park is apparently spectacular, though its remote location and the high cost of travel mean less than 200 visitors took in its breathtaking beauty last summer.

In the next few weeks I plan to deal with a few Nunavut-specific topics.
